I'm am 52 year old female, single, and on S.S.I. (supplemental security income) due to clinical depression. Since I did not pay in enough taxes I am NOT eligible for SSD. I receive $800 a month.
I used to own my own home before I became ill. And now I am renting an income based apartment. I am SO tired of being treated as a second class citizen.
I want to get my life back on track and my mom has offered to sell me her small but adequent rental house. The price is right. I am a hairstylist and would also be able to have a salon in my home.
During the worst of my illness I had to close my previous salon. I could no longer pay bills since I could hardly pay the rent. So now my credit is not in good standing.
I want and need a place to call home.
Does anyone know of a program that would help me buy a home?
